Together with Sensebit, Trafikia has been awarded a contract to deploy VISION and Trafficweb by Sensebit at 33 ferry locations operated by Trafikverket Färjerederiet – Sweden’s national ferry company. In total, 38 VISION systems will be installed to measure and classify traffic flows.
The Need for Reliable Traffic Classification
Färjerederiet transports millions of passengers and vehicles annually across Sweden’s waters. As a business unit within Trafikverket, the company receives compensation based on the number and type of transported units, including:

✔ Special and heavy transport vehicles
To ensure fair and accurate compensation, precise traffic classification is critical. Previous measurement methods have not provided for Trafikverket the necessary accuracy, leading to challenges in reporting and operations.
